In my York-based massage therapy practice, a client commented to me a few days ago that they “flabbergasted” after their massage. They had not realised how much tension had built up in their shoulders. They said there were parts of their back where they had not even known they had knotty muscles.
The problem with discomfort and pain is that it can become your new normal. You can get so used to it, you almost become unaware that it is there. Often, only when it is relieved do you realise the full extent of what you have been putting up with.
A good massage can help to reset your new normal. It can help you to become more attuned with your body.
