Is massage meditation?

When massaging at my massage practice in York, I often wonder if giving and receiving massage is a form of meditation. When I massage, I concentrate entirely on what I am doing. I try to be there entirely for the person I am massaging. I “listen” with my hands to what is going on for them and massage accordingly. For me, it is a deeply relaxing process. It is almost like entering a trance state. By being there for them in such a manner, I often find that deep blockages can be released. I also find that clients feel deeply relaxed after a massage – many say they they very rarely switch off so much and feel that relaxed. Is giving and receiving massage all that different from meditation?
