Leg Massage

Due to the nature of how we live, much of our attention is focused on our neck and shoulders. Endless hours in front of the computer and lots of driving often leads to tension in these areas. However, an often neglected area of the body when it comes to massage are the legs. The calf in particular can get very tense. It is also often subject to cramp. I have found in my massage therapy practice in York, that by massaging the calf in a deep but sensitive way it is possible to relieve that tense and significantly reduce the occurrence of cramp. The iliotibial band (ITB) is the ligament that runs down the outside of the leg, and can be subject to injury and pain – a deep but sensitive massage can bring relief and speed up healing.
