Massage Only When Appropriate

It is important to take a full consultation before massaging. This will reveal if there are any conditions which mean it is inappropriate to give a massage. It also allows the massage therapist to talk the client through what will happen during the massage, answer any questions and generally put the client at ease.

In my massage practice in York I ask clients to fill in a consultation form before the massage. If it is appropriate to give a massage, I then talk through what they would like from the massage. I then suggest a massage which I feel will be appropriate (for example, lower leg pain will require massage to a different area than neck pain).
