Western Medicine And CAM (Complementary And Alternative Medicine) Combined
As complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) becomes more popular, there is increasing recognition that many of these methods of healing have been around for centuries – massage has been around for thousands of years. People often turn CAM when they find western medicine does not work for them. By integrating CAM and western medicine, good results often occur. For example, an operation may be needed on a limb, and the limb may be immobile for a period of time. When it is safe to do so, I find in my massage therapy practice in York, that a sensitive massage can help to regain some of the lost flexibility and range of movement of the limb.
